RESOLUTION FOR TRANSPARENT ELECTION SYSTEMS

WHEREAS, it is essential that there be confidence in the integrity of elections in the United States; and

WHEREAS, confidence in the integrity of elections requires transparency; and

WHEREAS, a variety of groups are developing transparent election systems, and SB 360 enables counties to explore developing their own election systems;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Santa Clara County Democratic Party calls upon Santa Clara County to support efforts to create, certify and deploy transparent election systems, including, for example, systems that use open source software; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that copies of this resolution should be distributed to the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors, members of the California Democratic State and Federal delegations who represent any portion of Santa Clara County, and the California Secretary of State.
