a. Bylaws revision follow-up: Rules of Decorum – Bill James

Document passed out for signature asking members to acknowledge update to Bylaws reflecting Rules of Decorum


                b. Becoming a more active and action-orientated local Party – Bill James

                Bill shared sign up sheet to encourage volunteers. Asked for member to sign up for monthly donor contribution.


c. Featured Report from Director of Gender Equity and the Status of Women – Jean Cohen                                                              Jean circulated the resolution on gender equity to remind members about the action taken in 2013.  She asked for volunteers to help with the work needed to move forward on equity issues.


                d. Procedure to submit resolutions – Bill James

Bill shared update on our progress on resolutions this year.  He asked about ways to streamline the procedure.  He shared the draft SCCDCC Resolution process for comment as drafted by Shay Franco-Clausen


e. Labor Update – Brian O’Neill

Brian shared the importance of Unions on Democratic causes.  He shared data showing numbers of Republican controlled state and where right to work legislation has taken effect.  He invited Valentino Renales to share her story regarding issues with Community Child Care of Santa Clara County.

                Peter shared Raul Peralez will be guest speaker at the next lunch and that there is an exciting line up for the rest of the year.


                South County Democrats

Joan Fierro shared annual fundraiser is in Morgan Hill 12:00 – 3:00 at the Morgan Hill Cellars.  Dave Jones and John Chiang will be guest speakers.



Board has elected new members.  Linda Alexander is the new President.  Saturday, August 26th from 11:00 – 2:00 at the home of Steve/Connie Preminger will be the Annual Fundraiser Brunch.


                Peninsula Democratic Coalition

                August 19, 2017 Big Annual Fundraiser and potluck at Cuesta Park in Mt. View.  Delaine Easton will be the guest speaker.


SCDCC – Fred Rehhauuser – report shared – Annual picnic at Harris-Lass Museum on August 19th – Ash Kalra will be the guest speaker


                SVYD – Next meeting is 8/21/17.  John Hirokawa candidate for Sheriff will be the guest speaker.

n. Democratic National Committee: Otto Lee  - Stephanie Murphy fundraiser 8/21/17 at Otto Lee’s office.  Next meeting is in Las Vegas in October.

o. DTV Report: Steve Chessin Dominic Caserta was on DTV last month. 50 State strategy is being worked on, theme learning from our mistakes.  Jason Baker will the next guest in August.

         p. Pro-Choice Coalition: Claudia Shope – check out Planned Parenthood website for recent updates and action alerts/events
